Zeropex AS to sponsor CABE Sustainable Cities Programme

Norwegian micro-gen innovator, Zeropex AS announced today that it is to sponsor the 2009-10 Sustainable Cities Programme for the UK’s Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, CABE.

CABE’s Sustainable Cities Programme cuts through the complexities of the climate change debate to provide expert advice, offer clear priorities for action and describe good practice in sustainable urban design and management. The resource www.sustainablecities.org.uk supports the people whose job it is to make decisions about how to plan, design and manage towns and cities. CABE is now extending its work with the eight English core cities to work alongside teams of professionals at the cutting edge to support and learn from delivering new initiatives and improvements in the UK’s major cities.

Founded in 2006, Zeropex AS is a Norwegian company which has developed an innovative low carbon micro-gen solution that produces power from water system differential pressure.

Tor Albert Ersdal, CEO of Zeropex AS said, “In supporting CABE, we are getting an introduction to the challenges facing UK towns and cities in the move to low carbon strategies. We are excited to bring an international perspective to these solutions.

“Over the last year we have taken the opportunity to get to know CABE’s objectives and to understand their people and mission. Zeropex is committed to ensuring the quality of the built environment. In the markets where we operate we add not only value through our simple and smart, innovative technology, but we also ensure that it is implemented in a fashion that has empathy with the host built environment.”

Edward Hobson, Head of research at CABE said, “CABE sees climate change not as a threat but as an opportunity: an opportunity to improve the quality of our towns and cities. The challenge facing us is how to identify the best solutions across different disciplines to deliver prosperity, resilience and quality of life for people. We welcome our sponsor’s participation in exploring the ways forward for the public and private sectors to deliver this shared ambition.
